Can SFU be configured to use a Sun's pcnfsd for authentication?

Your question is vague... SFU is a collection of different things.
But I think this answers what you are really asking: SFU comes with an NFS and an NFS client. Pcnfsd doesn't need to be running on a Solaris box. The regular NFS server can be used. With Username mapping running on the SFU side the proper SID to UID/GID happens there. The Solaris/Sun box just treats the SFU NFS client just like another Unix box making a NFS requests (version 3 of NFS to be precise). Then for the Sun box it just says "Windows? What windows? There's just Unix boxes out there." |
